U.S. GOVERNMENT ISSUED RELEASE
TSA has changed security screening procedures at all U.S. airports,
banning liquids and gels at security checkpoints and aboard flights.
You will not be permitted to bring any liquids or gels past the screening checkpoint or on board, with a few exceptions.
...allow small doses of liquid medications through the security checkpoint and onboard airplanes,
a slight adjustment from the original ban, which was implemented on August 10.
... require all passengers to remove their shoes so they may be X-rayed with their carry-on bags.
Travelers may now carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less)
that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
After clearing security, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board aircraft.
At the checkpoint travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bag of liquids and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt.
X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.
In addition, larger amounts of prescription liquid medications, baby formula and
diabetic glucose treatments must be declared at the checkpoint for additional screening
See TSA site for total list of items allowed: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm#0
